2024 Guber race: APC is Formidable enough To Retain Power in Ondo —Engr. Bally

ONDO 2024: APC Has The Formidable Structure To Retain Power – Engr. Bally

**** We will build on the template of the 2023 general elections result to further dismantle the opposition structure – Engr. Ayotunde Bally

An APC kahuna in Ondo state and secretary of the APC PCC for Ondo Central senatorial District in the 2023 general elections, Engr. Ayotunde Bally has expressed confidence in the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) in the state of retaining political power in the 2024 governorship election.

Engr. Ayotunde Bally asserted that APC has the political wherewithal to retain power in the state beyond 2024 as a result of the formidable structure that the party has built over the years, since the inception of the Akeredolu led-administration in 2016.

“There is no gain in saying that APC in Ondo state is a party to beat in any political contest, judging by the outstanding results recorded in the 2023 general elections in the state. It is not awe that the main opposition in the state had an abysmal outing in the last elections from the presidential to the state assembly elections, where they managed to survive in winning one(1) federal House of Representatives seat out of nine seats and four(4) state assembly seats out of the twenty-six(26) seats.”

“Ostensibly, under the leadership of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON and the state party chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, APC has become a political party of a standard repute that any opposition will find arduous to defeat, irrespective of candidates fielded by the party.”

“It is incontrovertible that the main opposition party is yet to recover from the colossal doom suffered in the 2020 governorship election in the state, where the APC won 15 local government areas out of the 18, which is unprecedented in the political annals of governorship elections in the state since 1999, and the 2023 general elections further fused the extinction of the opposition parties in Ondo state.

In the 2023 general elections, APC won the 18 local government areas in the presidential election with 369,924 votes and in Ondo Central senatorial district, 103,871 votes with 58.17 per cent. The ruling APC won the three(3) senatorial seats, eight(8) of the nine(9) federal House of Representatives seats and twenty-two (22) out of the twenty-six (26) state assembly seats.”

“The recent mass exodus of dereliction to the APC in the state is an irrefutable fact that the ruling All Progressive Congress in Ondo state has become a party to reckon with in terms of quality governance, giving voice to the good of the state, protection of lives and property, massive infrastructural development across the state, the actualization of the deep sea port, harmonious relationship between the state government and workers under the NLC and TUC and the political stability that party has brought to the state.”

“Nobody can fault it that the main opposition in the state is not gasping for gas to survive, after the party has hurt a defeat for three consecutive times (2016, 2020 and 2023) and the 2024 governorship election will not exempt the main opposition from the previous defeat as a result of their dissoluble structure, which has plunged the party into political exile in Ondo state.

“No opposition party in the state can prance of having a winning structure, except for the ruling All Progressives Congress which we have ascertained in the aforementioned elections and has made the party a centre of political attraction and the 2024 winning is inevitable” – Engr. Ayotunde Bally

Engr. Bally enjoined the good of the state to continue showing their unalloyed support for the government of the APC, especially the current administration of Governor Akeredolu, SAN, CON and ensure they reciprocate the winning votes for the party in the 2023 elections in the 2024 governorship election as the political remnant of politicians in the opposition can not win a local government election, not to talk of the governorship election.

Engr. Ayotunde Bally urges Ondo citizens to intensify prayers for a speedy recovery of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON
