IDANRE/IFEDORE REPS, FESTUS O. AKINGBASO APPROVES THE CONDUCT OF FREE SUMMER LESSONS FOR STUDENTS
Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency – In a resolute stride towards bolstering education in the region, Hon. Festus O. Akingbaso, Member of the House of Representatives and Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Aviation, has granted approval for the initiation of complimentary Summer Learning Sessions. This initiative aims to alleviate the educational setbacks that typically arise during summer holidays across the communities within the Idanre/Ifedore federal constituency.
Hon. Akingbaso, with a steadfast dedication to fostering continuous learning, emphasizes the need for these Summer Lessons. These sessions are thoughtfully designed to bridge the educational gaps exacerbated by traditional summer breaks. The lawmaker asserts that the program will offer students the chance to partake in interactive and enjoyable learning experiences, thus nurturing a genuine passion for learning and countering the adverse effects of the “summer slide.”
Further elaborating on the program’s significance, Hon. Akingbaso affirms that this academic support during the summer recess will markedly contribute to the students’ academic achievements and readiness as they embark on the new school year. The Summer Lessons will cater exclusively to secondary school students and will span a four-week period, commencing on August 14th, 2023, and concluding on September 7th, 2023.
The learning sessions will be hosted across multiple community locations within the Idanre and Ifedore local governments. In the Idanre constituency, participating institutions include:
- Ebun Ogunyimika Comprehensive High School, Atosin Idanre
- St. Joseph Catholic Grammar School, Odode-Idanre
- Pragmatic Group of Schools, Idanre
Meanwhile, in the Ifedore constituency, the following schools will host the program:
- St. Joseph Primary School, Igbara-Oke
- St. Andrew’s Primary School, Ilara
- St. Peter Primary School, Ijare
- St. Mathias Primary School Ero
- L.A Primary school, Owena
- Emmanuel Primary school, Ikota
- St David’s primary school, Irese and Ibule
- St Micheal Primary school, Ero
- St Jude’s primary school, Ipogun
- St Luke’s Primary school, Isarun
The Summer Lessons are scheduled from Monday to Friday, between 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Hon. Akingbaso assures that stringent measures will be in place to guarantee the students’ well-being and appropriate conduct throughout the program.
In his closing remarks, the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Aviation passionately invites his constituents to collaboratively champion this transformative summer learning experience. Hon.
