Ondo State Football Stakeholders Forum (OSFSF) has commended the State Government’s decision to host and celebrate Ilaje born Super Falcons player Oluwatosin Demehin over her superlative performance at the ongoing Women’s World Cup in Australia/New Zealand.
The Convener of the Stakeholders Forum , Otunba Dele Ologbese, had earlier issued a statement over the Ondo State government’s failure to celebrate the former Sunshine Queens and Rivers Angels players.
Ologbese, who is the President of Ologbese Global Sports Management in a chat with newsmen, said the Forum is grateful to the Acting Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa for congratulating the former Sunshine Queens player, Oluwatosin Demehin, and his decision to host her in his office on her return from her base in France.
The immidiate past Vice Chairman of Ondo State Football Association FA, said : “We are greatly honoured that the Acting Governor took time out of his tight schedules to dialogue with the leadership of the Forum of the plans of Arakunrin Akeredolu’s Administration not only to honour Super Falcons defender, Oluwatosin Demehin but also to celebrate all sports heroes who had through their exploits brought honours and fame to Ondo State at one time or the other.”
“We are very happy the Acting Governor told us he had directed the Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Mr Bamidele Ologunloluwa, to bring up proposals on how to host and celebrate all sports heroes and heroins both living and death.”
“We commend the Acting Governor for his promptness, openness, and humility approach to issues which is genuine display of strong political will and exemplary leadership.”
“While we are convinced that the Ondo State Government will handle this important matter with utmost dispatch to the admiration of all stakeholders. The Ministry of Sports is enjoined to select relevant sports heroes purely on merit,” he said.
