STOP FUELLING CRISIS IN ODIGBO, GROUP WARNS PROTEST FINANCIERS
“Describes some group of protesters as politically sponsored.
A socio political group in Ondo State, Center For Peace & Harmony has appealed to residents of Ore and adjoining town to desist from making utterances that could plunge the peaceful community into unnecesary crisis, warning against formenting violence and crisis in Odigbo local government area of Ondo state over the forthcoming local government election.
The group who described some unknown protesters as politically sponsored protesters also warned their paymasters to as a matter of fact rein in their followers in order not to throw the state into a state of anarchy.
The group in a statement issued by its coordinator, Mr Adefesoye Afolabi noted that the unity of both indigenes and non indigenes remain non-negotiable and sacrosanct insisting that for peace to reign across the length and breathe of the state, everyone including political groups must shun acts capable of plunging the state into avoidable crisis and above all live in oneness irrespective of tribe or political affilliation.
Afolabi who is a major stakeholder in Odigbo local government insisted that learning to resolve disputes without aggression is a great way to enjoy peace adding that there is no alternative to peaceful atmosphere.
“It is pertinent to express our worries about the current happenings in Odigbo local government area of Ondo state, in an attempt by some people who are hiding under a political umbrella to cause chaos as the council and LCDA elections draw near.
The group also exonerated the wife of Ondo state Governor, Chief Mrs. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, of imposition in one of the LCDAs of that council area.
“We equally warned those who are behind this political shenanigans to desist from name dropping of Ondo state first Lady, Arabinrin Betty Akeredolu who is far away in Germany taking care of her husband, whom we believe is fast recuperating.
“Involving the name of the first lady in a matter that is not known to her is wicked and highly unacceptable, it only tells about the popularity the woman those political business-men are trying to victimise.
The group concluded that the attack on Mrs Nwanmara is highly unfair and bad politics taken too far, because the woman in question has lived in Ore for over 30 years in peace and harmony with the people which was responsible for her being elected as the Councilor representing Ore ward, presently. In addition, all she has is domiciled in the local government.
