2nd OSEPA Summit: Ondo Governor’s SA, Hon Oseni unveils Banner, begins sensitization

HON. OSENI KICK-STARTS SENSITIZATION ON 2023 EDITION OF OSEPA SUMMIT

Following the huge success recorded during the first edition of the Ondo State Environmental Protection Agency, OSEPA Summit on the menace of plastic pollution in Ondo State and subsequent activities embarked upon by the Agency to tackle this global challenge, OSEPA is getting set for the second edition of the annual Summit.

The event has been tagged “Combating the Menace of Plastic Pollution in Ondo State 2.0: Action Time“.

Hon. Oseni gave the assurance today at the media awareness programme held in Akure that the summit will be a huge success.

Speaking at the official unveiling of the Summit Banner which was meant to kickstart the sensitization activities towards the successful hosting of upcoming event, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Environment, Hon. Oyeniyi Oseni thanked the Akeredolu led government and noted that the administration will continue to give premium attention to the issue of the environment, especially plastic pollution in Ondo State.

The Special Adviser said Governor Akeredolu is keenly interested in ensuring the eradication of plastic pollution and maintenance of a clean environment in a bid to engender overall welfare of the citizenry.

He specially thanked the Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Sunday Akinwalire for his support at ensuring that OSEPA achieves its desired goals in tackling headlong the nuisance of plastic wastes in Ondo State.

The SA also commended the staff of OSEPA for their usual co-operation and robust working relationship which has enabled the Agency to stay focused.

Earlier in a remark, the Acting Permanent Secretary in charge of OSEPA, Princess Korede Giwa who was represented by the agency’s Director, Pollution Control, Mr. Obanoyen Oladipo appreciated the Special Adviser for his show of exemplary leadership which has significantly rubbed on every staff of the agency to be more dedicated to duty.

According to the Acting Permanent Secretary, “the Special Adviser’s synergy with Mr. Governor and his agenda has brought the huge success recorded in the last Summit.”

Princess Giwa, therefore, expressed confidence that this year’s edition will record greater success.

The sensitization programme has in attendance; the Director Research and Development, Mr. Ologbese Felix; the Director Finance and Administration, Mrs. Ayomide Adejoke; the PRO, Mr. Agboola Olabisi and other members of the OSEPA team.
