…..CRISIS ROCKS ONDO COMMUNITY OVER ALLEGED IMPOSITION OF LCDA CARETAKER CHAIRMAN, AS APC MEMBERS FINGER BABAJIDE AKEREDOLU AND FIRST LADY, MRS BETTY ANYANWU-AKEREDOLU
Politicians and residents of Ijare zone in ifedore local government area of Ondo State have expressed displeasure over alleged imposition and appointment of a non-Indigene and non APC party member as the Caretaker Chairman of the newly created Ijare LCDA in Ifedore local government coun area, threatening a showdown with a son of the Governor and the state First Lady.
The Ijare zone APC party members who frowned over the development said the actions of the first son and first lady may snowball into a mayhem in the communities in Ijare zone, if he/she insists on installation of one Tope Kunle Ajayi popularly called “Engr Favour” as the LCDA CARETAKER CHAIRMAN.
According to the people who spoke anonymously, Babajide Akeredolu and her mother Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu cannot impose a politician of Akure South local government as Caretaker Chairman in the LCDA and vowed to resist appointment of Engr Tope Kunle Ajayi popularly known as “Favour”.
The APC members alleged that Ajayi is a personal friend to Babajide and that is why he allegedly wanted to impose on Ijare LCDA where Ajayi does not reside or register as a voter.
The APC party members and stakeholders in Ijare zone described it as an aberration for APC leaders in Ijare zone to be taking directive from a non member of the APC in Ifedore local government if appointed as Caretaker Chairman of the council area.
It was gathered that APC stakeholders from the zone who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the alleged plan to impose an Akure South politician as the chairman of the LCDA in Ifedore local government was to send members of APC who worked seriously during the last election to political oblivion.
“Moreover, the APC leaders in ijare zone have been talking to relevant authorities and called for calm among the youths, we have this historic antecedents of ensuring peace in our domain, we have called our youths to be law abiding and peaceful.
“The Ijare zone APC party leaders are doing many things to ensure peace and appealing to the Governor’s son and first lady that we love them not to tamper with the peace of this locality.
“How can we start an (Ijare) LCDA with a total non members of APC in Ifedore local government as the first Caretaker Chairman, we cannot take it at all, let the ifedore APC members particularly Ijare zone be the Chairman and not Akure South politician to become caretaker chairman of Ijare LCDA,” they warned.
They appealed Governor Akeredolu to call to order those involved in the wrong decision in the interest of peace.
