“I want to be the stronghold of the party, personality would determine this election, not factions, I possess the credentials that the people of Ondo State are yearning for.

“It takes lot of courage for a young man to come and say he wants to be the governor, particularly with the uncertainties shouldering the political space, the power of incumbency, elections that usually end up in Court which shouldn’t be, a country would spend billions of Naira on election and the election would still end in court, these are factors that distract individuals from contesting, when you have a young man coming for this kind of challenges, it takes a lot of gut, my people are excited about my aspirations.

“PDP, cross carpeting cannot affect us, one go and another one comes, let the race begins, we don’t know what would still happen in the APC (after the governorship primary).

“The service to the people is driving me to contest, it is my passion to serve, if you see my tax clearance you would know that I am committed to this state, even though all my income are not coming from Ondo State but I reside in Ondo and I contribute to the economy of Ondo State, I want to be part of developmental process of Ondo State, I crave for the support of the people of Ondo State,” Akinwumi.
