Ondo: PAMO foundation awards N100,000 Scholarship to Okeigbo indigenes in tertiary institutions

It was a day of joy in the community when An Okeigbo-born oil and gas mogul, Managing Director, Anchor Maric Nigeria Limited and Chairman, Watts Oil & Gas, Chairman Pamo Empowerment Foundation, Mr. Akintayo Richard Adefiranye in partnership with his late Wife, Mrs. Waripamoere Adefiranye’s NGO, PAMO FOUNDATION, awarded scholarships of N100,000 to some Okeigbo indigenes with 3.5 CGPA in different tertiary institutions in the country.

The scholarship award was given yesterday, Saturday 9th September, 2023 to the students at Okeigbo community, Ile-oluji/Okeigbo Local Government area of Ondo State.

PAMO FOUNDATION, a non-governmental organization which is primarily designed to positively transform the lives of people through evidence-based programmes that focused on expanding their capacities at all levels.

It would be recalled that Mr. Akintayo Richard Adefiranye donated a well equipped ICT centre and solar borehole to Oloroke Grammar School in Okeigbo, Ileoluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State. The ICT centre was named in loving memory of his late Mrs. Waripamoere Adefiranye which was commissioned on Saturday, 27th May, 2023 by the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, (CON) ably represented by the Ondo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Amidu Takuro.

Speaking at the event yesterday, Mr. Akintoye Richard Adefiranye ably represented by Dr. Iyabo Akande said that Akintayo Adefiranye is passionate about the holistic development of the students in primary, secondary and tertiary institutions, hence would continue to do everything possible to facilitate their growth process.

Adefiranye further said that the beauty of life is to invest in the lives of younger people and the needy.

“What matters in life is not what you bought but what you built; what matters is not what you got but what you gave; what matters is not your success but your significance and what you would be remembered for”.

In her speech, the representative of PAMO Educational Empowerment Foundation, Dr. Iyabo Akande, expressed satisfaction over the programme, noting that the scholarship empowerment programme was done in lovely remembrance and to also commemorate the remarkable impact of the Akintayo’s late wife, Mrs. Waripamoere Adefiranye.

“Akintayo Adefiranye has shown a sign of gaiety and monumental demonstration that will never attract erase in the history of Okeigbo community. His dream and vision has illuminated the path to a brighter future for our children”. Dr. Akande said.

She then encouraged the beneficiaries to be focused in their academic pursuit as they have all it takes to excel and make a name for themselves in their chosen careers.

One of the beneficiaries who spoke on behalf of others, appreciated the initiator of PAMO FOUNDATION Mr. Richard Akintayo Adefiranye who christened the foundation after his late wife Waripamoere to affect the lives of the people positively.

“We really appreciate this great avenue to support our education with this scholarship grant. Big thanks to everyone who made this happen. Thank you so much”.

In the same manner, President, National Association of Okeigbo Students (NAOS), Comrade Oloyede Victor Imisioluwa on behalf of the association acknowledged and appreciated the outstanding effort and positive impact of PAMO FOUNDATION, stressed that Mr. Akintayo Adefiranye is a blessing to Okeigbo community, Ondo State and Nigeria at large. He prayed that God shall continue to increase and bless him in all ramifications of his endeavours.
