Subsidy removal: Ilaje Palliative Committee Distributes Items Amidst Peaceful Atmosphere

The Deputy Speaker of Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Prince) Abayomi Babatunde Akinruntan joined other committee members to flag off the distribution of palliatives to vulnerable households in Ilaje Local Government, initiated to cushion the adverse effects of food shortage and mitigate the skyrocketing fuel price in the country by Mr. President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.

Rt. Hon. Akinruntan appreciated Mr. Governor, Arakunrin Odunayo Oluwarotimi Akeredolu who has been transparent, sincere and thorough through the Finance Commissioner and State Chairman of the Palliative Committee, Mr. Wale Akinterinwa in ensuring that the palliatives get to vulnerable households in Ilaje Local Government.

Respectfully, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Akinruntan was accompanied by other committee members and prominent Ilaje leaders which include, Hon. Banji Ajaka; Commissioner for Health, Dr. Wunmi Ilawole; SSA to Ondo Governor on Education, Hon. Goke Jatuwase, Hon. Wunmi Fayemi, Hon. Nimbe Tawose, Dr Bayo Shegede, Hon. Ebiesuwa Philemon, Hon Sikemi Atibere amongst others to Navy Base, Igbokoda where the palliative distribution for targeted vulnerable households kicked off.

While addressing the committee members and Ilaje leaders present, Rt. Hon Akinruntan stated emphatically that, the palliatives given to the state by the Federal Government is for all; irrespective of political or religious divide, spanning through all communities both upland and riverine, noting that, this is the first (1st) phase of the intervention and more are to come in various modes; cash, relief materials etc.
