HON. FESTUS ADEFIRANYE EMPOWERS OUTSTANDING STUDENTS OF HIS FREE SUMMER COACHING PROGRAM

In what seems like a carnival at ore the headquarters of Odigbo local government yesterday the 25th day of September, Honourable Festus Adefiranye, the esteemed Member of the House of Representatives representing Ileoluji/ Okeigbo & Odigbo Federal Constituency has once again displayed his dedication towards empowering the youth and students through his educational empowerment programmes in his constituency.

In a heartwarming gesture, he recently awarded 21 outstanding students from the 7 centers of the free summer coaching program with ₦50,000 cash and back-to-school souvenirs. One overall best student was drawn from SS1 to SS3 across the 7 centers of Ileoluji, Okeigbo, Odigbo, Ore, Ajue, Araromi Obu and Bankemo respectively. The event took place in the presence of proud parents, enthusiastic students, esteemed party members, and the general public.

Honourable Festus Adefiranye, known for his unwavering commitment to education and community development, believes in providing equal opportunities for all young individuals to thrive academically. The free summer coaching program has been instrumental in ensuring that students can enhance their knowledge and skills during the summer break.

During the event, Honourable Festus Adefiranye expressed his belief that investing in education is crucial to building a prosperous society. He emphasized the need for continuous support and encouragement for students to excel in their studies, stating that education is the key to future success.

The people’s MHR in his speech also used the opportunity to inform the gathering of expanding the present seven centers to accommodate more communities from each wards of the federal Constituency. He assured them of his preparedness to give good representation by facilitating projects that will better the lives of the people. He informed them that he already moved a Motion in the House of Representatives for the Dualization of Ore – Ondo and Akure Federal Road and assured them that the project will come into a reality because already the follow up has commenced.

The 21 students who received the ₦50,000 cash prize and back-to-school packages were chosen based on their exceptional performances during the summer coaching sessions. Their hard work, dedication, and determination in pursuit of academic excellence were recognized and celebrated during the event.

Parents, students, party members, and the general public were present to witness this remarkable event. The atmosphere was filled with joy, excitement, and gratitude towards Honourable Festus Adefiranye for his unparalleled support in empowering the youth and investing in their future.

Reps Urge FG to complete Ondo Power Project

The House of Representatives on Tuesday
mandated its Committee on Power to liaise with the Federal Ministry of Power to take necessary steps towards the immediate completion of the Okeigbo – Igbo Olodumare Power Project in Ile Oluji/ Okeigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The House passed the resolution sequel to the consideration of a motion to that effect during plenary.

The motion was titled ‘ The Need for Immediate Completion of the Okeigbo – Igbo Olodumare Power Project in Ile Oluji/ Okeigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State Area of Ondo State”.

It was sponsored by Hon. Ayodele Adefiranye, an All Progressives Congress member representing Ileoluji/Okeigbo and Odigbo federal constituency

Adefiranye noted that sometime in 2005, the Federal Government embarked on a power plant project Okeigbo–Ajejigi–Kajola Bolorunduro– Awopeju–Orisunmibare Camp–Okealafia–Igbo Olodumare in Ile Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State against the backdrop of the persistent poor power supply to the area.

He further noted that the project advanced with installation of various equipment, including six 500kv transformers installed at different locations, installation of concrete electric poles across the communities as well as high tension wire in almost all the project locations.

The lawmaker expressed concern that “the project has become one of the abandoned projects in the country as no effort has been made to complete it in line with the laudable intentions of the government, eighteen years after
initiating it”.

The lawmaker said completing the Okeigbo power project would boost production activities and economic development.
