Stakeholders and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ifedore Central local Council Development area (LCDA) of Ondo State, have disowned a group known as “Ifedore Central Youth Solidarity Movement” as faceless set of people.
The purported youth group had claimed that at a meeting held in Ilara-Mokin, said, “the Ifedore Central Youth SOLIDARITY MOVEMENT concurred to embark on hunger strike as from Thursday 28th September 2023 until Mr Governor announces Surveyor Adewumi Alarapon as the Caretaker Chairman Ifedore Central LCDA.
“All the stakeholders in newly created Ifedore Central LCDA to be united since divided we fall. The choice of Surveyor Adewumi Alarapon is inevitable due to his loyalty, commitment, unflattering, unflinching, unflagging and irrevocable commitment to the cause of youth empowerment and steadfastness in the pursuant of women empowerment,” the group said.
However in a press release made available to newsmen, the APC leaders in Ifedore Central LCDA described the group as unknown and its purported endorsement of Surveyor Adewumi Alarapon as strange and unacceptable.
The APC chieftains said those who signed for the said group are not youths and the party still stand by the decision of the Governor Akeredolu and the APC Chairman, Engr Ade Adetimehin.
“That the attached document and signatories was detached from the photocopy of memorandum signed by Ilara Mokin, Ipogun and Ibule Soro jointly while seeking for the creation of Ifedore Central LCDA. We appreciate the Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and Engr Adetimehin for the creation of the LCDA.
“The group’s publication wasn’t the interest of the good people of the newly created LCDA.
“The party structure still stand by decision of the party we believe in party supremacy.”
The party appeals to the Ondo State Government, our Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu and State Structure of APC under Engr Ade Adetimehin to ignore such unnecessary agitation by the faceless group.
