Youth leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Southwest zone have lambasted the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Ondo State chapter for seeking the resignation or impeachment of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN.
The Youth leaders led by the Southwest Zonal Youth Leader, Lawal Kolade, stated this in Akure, the state capital while addressing a press conference at the NUJ Press Centre on Thursday.
According to Lawal popularly known as ‘Paff’, the PDP leadership and youth wing in Ondo state are confused and dying in the state as a result of electoral defeats they had suffered in recent years in the state due to popularity of Governor Akeredolu.
The APC Youth leader noted that there is no doubt that Akeredolu is well-loved by the people of Ondo State considering their massive electoral support and prayers during his trying time, pointing out that it is however illogical for the state chapter of the PDP to be calling for his resignation or impeachment by the state House of Assembly.
Lawal said governance in Ondo State has not been negatively affected by the absence of the governor in the state, appealing to the people of the state to still exercise patience as the governor would come to the state in days time.
The APC youth leader also commended the appointment of two young ministers from Ondo State in persons of Hon Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo and Hon Ayo Olawande.
