ZONE 17 AIG VISITS ONDO GOVERNOR
Presents White Paper on Counter Operations Against Security Challenges in the Zone
The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 17 AIG Abiodun Asabi paid a working visit to the Executive Governor of Ondo State, Hon Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa in his office on 12th March, 2024.
- AIG Asabi maintained that the purpose of his visit is to present A White Paper for counter Operations Against Security Challenges in the Zone. Contained in the white paper are various measures to stem the tide of security challenges bedeviling the Zone.
- The AIG is of the view that” we should not underestimate the capability of the Police in the two states, hence what is needed is the support of the state governments in boosting our capacity for the benefit of the people”.
- In his response, Governor Aiyedatiwa Welcomed the AIG and his entourage and also expresses the readiness of Ondo State government to collaborate with police to achieve desired results. The Governor pledged that the government will study the proposal and swift action will be taken.
- The AIG was accompanied by CP Abayomi Oladipo Peter, Ondo State Commissioner of Police and his Ekiti State counterpart, CP Akinwale Adeniran, Deputy Commissioners of Police in charge of Operations in Ondo, Ekiti and the Zonal headquarters. Also in the AIG’S entourage is the Squadron Commanders from both States.
