Easter: Christians must not forget ultimate Sacrifice of Jesus —Igbaraoke monarch

Easter Celebration: Olowa Urges Christians to Remember the Ultimate Sacrifice

The Olowa and Paramount Ruler of Igbara-Oke Kingdom, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Francis Adefarakanmi Agbede, OFR, has urged the Christians to continue imbibing the spirit of love, unity, tolerance and peaceful co-existence as they celebrate Easter.

In his message, the monarch reiterated the significance of Easter, which marks the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

According to him, there is a need for continued fellowship and to put into remembrance the ultimate sacrifice of our Lord Jesus for mankind. He said Christ’s death and resurrection was a great sacrifice that brought redemption to our souls. “The Christianity we enjoy today and our salvation is a product of the inestimable sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross at Calvary”

Again, Oba Agbede said this season should serve as a reminder to all for the selflessness, love, sacrifice and tolerance of Jesus Christ, which calls for sober reflection on our lives and the restoration of our individual covenant with God, to forgive one another as Almighty God forgave us through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, His dear son.

With the current economic and security challenges, he charged Nigerians to reflect on values towards promoting and strengthening the foundation of love, peace and harmony, and to unite with one another, by working in the spirit of togetherness and exercise collective tolerance, in order to help create a better society for ourselves and our children yet unborn.

He prayed that the joys of Easter and the Blessings of Christ’s infinite grace for mankind fill our lives, families, communities, State and nation at large.
