…..Says “People must question sources of wealth of all APC, PDP Guber Aspirants”

….We’re not jittery over Aiyedatiwa’s Academic Records —Campaign Group.

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Chairman, Ondo  Liberation Initiatives (OLI), Prince Biyi Poroye has declared that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is the most prepared and qualified to win the party’s governorship ticket ahead of the 2024 election in the state.

Poroye who stated this on Monday at a News Conference in Akure, pointed out that contrary to insinuation in some quarters, the Governor has no Certificate scandal and he is well-qualified to contest to win the race comes this April and November this year.

The OLI Chairman flanked by other APC Chieftains, pointed out that all APC and the PDP Governorship Aspirants in the state should be subjected to public scrutiny, noting that those with questionable sources of wealth should be made to face public ridicule rather than allowing them to contest the election.

Poroye who is also the Co-convener Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers (LACO-FS), insisted that those who are not comfortable with academic qualifications of Aiyedatiwa should approach court of law to seek redress rather than brandishing fake police report on his academic records.

He also expressed satisfaction with the giant strides being recorded by the Governor with the shortest time.

Poroye, who is also Chairman, Emerging Political Platform (EPP), said the Campaign Group of the Governor is not jittery as there is no controversy on the academic records of the Governor, adding that the campaign group is sure of winning the primary and election proper.

Also speaking, the Spokesman of LACO-FS, Kayode Fasua said purported police report could not be trusted, saying that the Governor is eminently qualified to contest and win the race.

Poroye further explained that, “Alleged Certificate Scandal: the media platforms have been abuzz with lurid stories, insinuating that Governor Aiyedatiwa does not have a secondary school certificate as claimed in his bio-data. Thankfully,  facts don’t lie. Recall that the then Governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, in his developmental stride in the education sector, relocated some dilapidated public schools to his newly built public schools.

“Therefore,  Governor Aiyedatiwa who claims that he entered Ikosi High School in 1980 and passed out of the school in 1982 was right after all, because he was relocated to that school when he was in Form 3, and he passed ou of it in 1982, at Form 5.

“This tale of certificate scam is no longer new and it beggars questions as to why it is going viral upon nothing. Definitely, detractors are crying wolf where there is none.

“This has in no doubt  addressed the worry of all those who have been asking that how could Aiyedatiwa enter secondary school in 1980 and pass out in 1982.

“We indeed love this sort of inquest, and we want to task the  good people of Ondo State and social critics to dig into the past / present of all the governorship aspirants and sponsors, across the party lines.

“For instance, how can aspirants who can not tell how they become millionaire overnight want to become  the Governor of Ondo State? Those who have handled the resources of the state with questionable issues .

“Still, the whistle-blower should find out what happened to  Billions of Naira released to me one of the governorship aspirants  to help contain ocean surge; We need to ask questions.”

Poroye said, “Achievements: Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has in close to four months since assuming office, shocked bookmakers with his superlative performance.  He started out by clearing public workers’ unpaid salaries and allowances, despite the lean situation of the state’s resources.

“He proceeded from there to pay  N35,000 palliative extra-income to civil servants in the face of national economic hardship. Affirmed, Governor Aiyedatiwa is not owing salaries till date in Ondo State, which is a rarity.

“In tow, he settled upwards of four months of unpaid salary for workers at Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo, besides paying off arrears of pensions and gratuities to retirees.

“Only recently, the Governor gave approval for the immediate employment of 200 staff in Ondo State Internal Revenue Service (ODIRS).

“He, in tandem, approved the employment 100 health personnel in the first phase of his employment across sectors. Same also applied for the employment of 600 personnel for HMB, PHCC, and others in the health sector and application is ongoing.

“Meanwhile, here is a governor who recently approved N1.2 billion for Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa. Governor Aiyedatiwa has also gone far afield to mobilise contractors back to site across the three senatorial districts of the state, especially the road contractors. If some people feel we are lying, they should ask from beneficiaries of these gestures.

“Lest I forget, Governor Aiyedatiwa had long released a sum of N2 billion as grant-in-aid to serve as soft loans to farmers, artisans, petty traders, and the youth, in need of professional empowerment.”

“Primary Election: We, the political stakeholders in Ondo State, want to appeal to members of our great party, the APC, to consider the need for us to put forward a tested and now trusted hand in the person of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa. The governor has only spent 73 days in office, not yet 100 days, and he has exceeded the  masses’ expectation.

“Yes, power has shifted to the Southern senatorial district through common understanding.  However, we should also come to terms with the fact that the Ilaje part of that district, from where the Governor hails, had until now been unable to produce a Governor for Ondo State. All the aspirants within the party are preeminently qualified, but we are lucky to have Lucky Aiyedatiwa as Governor,  who is so much loved by the people.

“We would, therefore, appeal to our party members to tap into this wisdom and put Ondo State on the path of progress, through the election of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in our coming party primaries” Poroye said.
