Ondo 2024: Artisans endorse Aiyedatiwa for continuity, as APC Aborigines defend adoption of Aiyedatiwa

Ondo State Artisans have on Tuesday endorsed Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for continuity in office.

They gave this open endorsement during the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers (LACO-FS) interactive session with Artisans held at the Dome, Akure.

While Speaking, the LACO Director on union matters and Artisan, Michael Adeyanju said they would ensure that the governor was elected to continue his giant strides.

“All hands must be on deck to ensure that this performing governor is returned to lead us for the next four years.

“It is a task that must be done by all lovers of good. Mr governor has not only shown but demonstrated capacity to deliver to the good people of Ondo State legacies that will last generations”.

Giving reasons for the endorsement, Adeyanju said Aiyedatiwa has demonstrated leadership by catering for the needs of Artisans and trade union in Ondo State

“It is imperative that we State our reasons for supporting your candidature, in the last 98days of your assumption of office, the sun has lightened up in the areas of road infrastructure, stabilization of civil service by appointing eminently qualified men and women into position of head of Service, permanent secretary, general managers and other top career positions”.

“Mr governor has shown humanity in the area of prompt salary payment, wage award, leave bonus now being paid as when due”.

“The peculiarity of Ondo State being a civil service driven Economy, coupled with the regularity of salary payment has economically liquefied the system whereby artisans, tradesmen and women heaves sigh of relief with increased patronage of their businesses by our people. Mr governor, you are doing well”.

“There is no doubt you are a man of depth and great vision, we Artisans has therefore come this day to openly associate with your lofty dreams and great ideas for a greater Ondo by officially telling everyone that union and artisans in the state has endorsed the governor, Lucky Ayiedatiwa to continue as our executive governor for four years”.

Also speaking, the LACO Director General, Hon. Oladipupo Okeyemi (aka CarryGo) said LACO foot soldiers are now moving round the Ondo State to spread the gospel of Aiyedatiwa’s election.

“LACO foot solider is now a movement in Ondo State, We have backings of over 3,000 men and women that are working for Aiyedatiwa, we are happy that Artisans are also here for Aiyedatiwa”.

While responding to the Artisans endorsement, the Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, appreciated them for their endorsement, promising not to disappoint the citizens.

“I hereby use this opportunity to accept this endorsement, we would continue to work for the people, I appreciate everyone for their support”.

“In the past three months that I have assumed office after the death of the late governor, we have started the development of Ondo State, the light up Ondo State has commence, the operation no port hole has started, recruitment process is on, we would continue to do more assiduous work for the development of our dear state” the Governor said.

2024: ONDO APC ABORIGINES ENDORSE GOVERNOR AIYEDATIWA FOR PARTY CANDIDACY

The pioneer leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State, known as APC Aborigines, have announced Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa as their preferred candidate ahead of the party’s primary and November governorship election.

The endorsement came during a meeting of the group led by Sola Iji, former ambassador to Togo, in Akure, where the group adopted the candidacy of the Governor.

Leaders of the party at the event included former Deputy Leader of the Senate, Prof. Ajayi Borrofice, Chief Tokunbo Ajasin, Dr. Taiwo Malumi, Mrs Grace Animola, Alhaji Yinusa Adeola and Hon. Akinsehinde Awodeyi-Apata.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Ambassador Iji said following the establishment of a nine-member committee, three aspirants were recommended after screening and out of the three Governor Aiyedatiwa scored the highest mark of 777 and thus adopted as the preferred candidate of the group.

He said the leadership unanimously agreed to select Governor Aiyedatiwa based on the set criteria including popularity, acceptability, financial capability, character, integrity, loyalty, commitment, educational background, and assessments by prominent leaders.

“After thorough discussions and careful consideration, the leadership collectively agreed to extend their endorsement to Governor Aiyedatiwa. This decision was not made lightly; rather, it was the culmination of a comprehensive assessment. This rigorous evaluation process underscores our commitment to selecting the most qualified candidate to lead us forward.”

In his remarks, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed his profound gratitude for the overwhelming endorsement of his candidacy for the upcoming gubernatorial election, thanking the party leaders for their commitment to the development of the party.

Highlighting the significance of their endorsement in line with the “Renewed Hope” agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized the importance of continuity to uphold the legacy of former Governor, Late Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu.

The Governor said he accepted the endorsement with humility and a sense of responsibility, vowing to rededicate himself to the collective goal of building a more prosperous Ondo State.

“Let me say that your open, transparent and credible endorsement of my candidature is an honour, not just for me, but also for fellow contestants and the APC family in Ondo State. What you have done is to put our great Party on the path of victory in the impending gubernatorial election in our Sunshine State.”
