Just a few days to the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship primary election in Ondo State, the senior pastor of Awaiting The Second Coming Of Christ Ministry, Adewale Giwa has advised other contestants to rally round their brother, Olusola Oke, SAN with a view to becoming the flagbearer of the party.
Giwa, who stated this in Akure on Sunday, said all hands must be on deck to support Oke to realize his lifelong governorship ambition.
The APC has slated Saturday for the party’s governorship primary.
16 aspirants, including the incumbent Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, have refused to step down for one another.
All of them hail from Ondo’s Southern senatorial district, except one of the female contestants who comes from the northern part of the state.
However, Giwa advised the APC aspirants to embrace dialogue and support Oke.
He said,” If my memory serves me well, Chief Olusola Oke has contested for governorship position three consecutive times.
“I think it is time to give him support to realize his governorship ambition. I want to advise other contestants to rally round him with a view to moving the state forward.
“If he had wanted to become a senator, he would have done so before now. He never lobbies to be a minister or political appointments at the federal level. What he wants is to become the governor with a view to turning the state around.
“Some of these aspirants are senators, reps members, political appointees, etc. Ask them what they have been able to do with the positions they are holding.
“They should think beyond the governorship ambition and rally round their brother, Oke, who is now 68 years old.
“Some of these contestants are fortunate to be where they are. I expect some of them to thank God and manage whatever they have achieved.”
