The Ondo State Public Complaints, Financial Crime and Anti-Corruption Commission, has outlawed process of collecting charges on Point of Sales, POS by any business venture or organizations over the cost of items and commodities bought when it is paid directly into the account of the owner of the business entity.
In a Press Statement, the Secretary of the commission, Prof Adewole Adeyeye, said the step to clamp down business ventures that charge illegally on PoS was in line with the mandate of the anti-graft agency.
According to Prof Adeyeye, every organization or business entity should henceforth have a designated account for transaction purposes because information at the disposal of the Commission revealed that the attitude of extorting money under the guise of charges are deliberate which ought to be curbed.
The agency’s Secretary said, “the Ondo State Public Complaints, Financial Crime and Anti-Corruption Commission was established in year 2022 to checkmate sharp practices, economic saboteur, promote probity and accountability in the conduct of Government business, fight against social vices
“In the exercise of its mandate, the Commission has OUTLAWED the process of collecting charges on POS by any business or organization over the cost of items/ commodities bought when it is paid directly into the account of the owner of the business entity.
“Every organization or business entity should henceforth have a designated account for transaction purposes because information at the disposal of the Commission revealed that the attitude of extorting money under the guise of charges are deliberate which ought to be curbed.
“Corruption and corrupt practices is a threat to economic stability for Ondo State to grow. Thus, if you see something, say something,” said Prof Adeyeye.
