The Ikaram Progressive Union, IPU in Akoko North west local government area of Ondo State is organising a one-day Syposium tagged “Public Safety and Economic Development”.
The Symposium scheduled for Saturday 18th of May, 2024 will take place at the popular Ikaram Town hall, in the ancient community of Akoko and it will start by 10:00am.
The panelists would analyze the functionality of the interdependence of various government security agencies toward attaining a sustainable economy.
Some notable and well respected panelists and speakers that would be busy throughout the event to speak on the roles of their agency include but are not limited to, Ondo state commander of Amotekun corps, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, Major General Clement Olukoju (Rtd) of the Nigerian Army, Rear Admiral Adefemi Kayode of the Nigeria Navy, Colonel Kehinde Adamu (Rtd) of the Nigeria Army, Mr Kayode Alabi of the Nigeria Civil Defence, Mr Olumide Kayode, Esq, a retired police boss (DCP), and Corps Commander Adejare Francis Ajatta of the Federal Road Safety Corps, amongst several others.
The Symposium would be moderated by the Chief Registrar of the National Industrial Court, Barr Olurotimi Williams Daudu while the Akala of Ikaram, a retired Navy Commodore, Oba Andrew Momodu is the royal father of the day.
The President, Ikaram Progressive Union Worldwide, a wartime veteran of the United States Air Force and a former police officer with the New York Police Department, Chief Odomode Opemipo Adeyemi LaCrown is the chief host.
The IPU President in a statement opined that financial security was needed by Nigeria and Nigerians to support a reasonable standard of living now that will guarantee a good qualiþy of life in the forseeable future.
“Without security in the land, there can be no sustained economic development. Experience teaches that the reverse is also true, as persistent and widespread poverty can also undermine the stability of a whole country. That is the situation in our country”. LaCrown said.
