Deji of Akure, Lawyers hail Senator Adegbonmire as he unveils Digital Library for NBA Akure Branch

It was a fulfilment of dream and promise on Thursday, 23rd May, 2024, when a 21st century digital library was donated and unveiled at the Akure Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, by Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire, SAN, representing Ondo Central at the National Assembly.

The E-Library donated by Adegbonmire features four numbers of all inclusive HP Desktop Computers, four numbers of HP Laptop computers; twenty hours internet supply, alternative source of electricity driven by 3.5 KVA solar inverter, e-legislations, electronic versions of Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, laws of various state of Nigeria, and air-conditioned library hall, among others.

Other benefits for members include access to fully equipped law materials for researches, legal and academic purposes.

At the elaborate event held at NBA office at Oke-Eda in Akure, the NBA branch Chairman, Mr ‘Banjo Aiyenakin, appreciated the donor, Senator Adegbonmire for the huge project that would boost capacity of lawyers to do their work effectively.

The NBA Branch Chairman also used the opportunity to enjoin members to feel free to visit the NBA House to access the facilities for use between the hours of 8am to 6pm daily as the equipment is fully powered without electricity failure.

Giving his remarks, the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olayide Adelami who was personally on ground to witness the historic event appreciated the donor for his sterling leadership just as he charged others to take a cue from the gesture.

The Special Guest, Hon Justice Olusegun Odusola, the Chief Judge of Ondo State commended the donor for the provision of the digital library, acknowledging that it will be of immmense benefits to members of the Bar and the judiciary.

In a separate remark, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, the Deji of Akure Kingdom, appreciated Senator Adegbonmire for making Akure proud as always.

Responding to all the applause, the donor, Senator Adegbonmire said he practiced law for 35 years until last year when he ventured fully into politics and that he hopes to return to law practice.

While particularly appreciating the Ondo State All Progressive Congress (APC) Chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin for making possible his dream to serve his constituency, he further assured of continued support for NBA community.

In attendance also at the event include; the One Star Deputy Governor, Olayide Adelami; Judges of the Ondo State High Court, Judges of the Customary Court of Appeal, National Industrial Court among others.

One other major highlight of the event was the award of certificates for excellent service presented to NBA members of the Digital Library Committee ably led by Bukola Ikujuni, Esq.

In a chat with newsmen shortly after the event, Eng. Ade Adetimehin commended Sen. Adegbonmire for making Akure and APC proud as always.
