Funfair, Police Commissioner in attendance as Ondo POWA celebrates 2024 Children’s Day

As part of activities marking 2024 Children’s Day celebration, members of Police Officers Wives Association (POWA), Ondo State chapter organized a special event to celebrate 2024 children’s day most especially Police Officers’ children amidst funfair.

Declaring the grand event open today at POWA House, Akure, the Commissioner of Police in Ondo State, CP Abayomi Oladipupo said the purpose primarily is to celebrate with the children.

According to him, the program will be sustained as the goal is to give children of different ethnic background and class the opportunity to relate in a social setting.

Oladipupo encouraged the children to enjoy the best of the moment and unwind in a most relaxed setting, charging them to be good ambassadors of their homes as the future of the nation.

Speaking on the theme of the celebration, “For every child, every right”, the State Chairperson, Ondo State POWA, Mrs. Elizabeth Abayomi said the day is specially set aside to celebrate children from different police schools and families.

Mrs. Abayomi who admonished parents to raise their children properly by bringing them up in upright way so that they do not depart from it when they grow up, said it is the duty of the society at large to care for other kids who are less privileged towards building a great future for the nation.

Particularly thanking CP Abayomi for finding time to grace the occasion, Mrs. Abayomi also appreciated all other members of POWA for their supports.

Shortly before leading prayers for the children, Police Chaplain, CSP Elijah Olawuyi admonished the children with the Word of God saying God sees them as heritage and arrows in the hands of their parents.

He also restated the need to be good ambassadors of their homes wherever they find themselves.

Other major highlights of the event include drama presentation, recitals and dancing competition among students of different schools.

The event also featured special prayer session led by Assistant Chief Imam.

The highpoint of the celebration is the cutting of 2024 Children Days cake.

In attendance at the grand event include students from Police Children School, 1, Akure, Police Secondary School, Akure, Police Children School 2, Police Children School 3 as well as Police Children.
