Hon. Omowunmi, siblings Pay Glowing Tribute, as late Dad is laid to rest

The father of Hon. Omowunmi Olatunji Ohwovoriole, Pa Olatunji Eddo was on Wednesday, June 12th 2024 interred in Akure, the Ondo State capital amidst emotional tributes from both family members and friends of the family who attended the funeral service held at St. David’s Cathedral, Ijomu, Akure.

Describing her late father as a compassionate man who loved people and a disciplinarian who paid particular attention to the upbringing of his children, Hon. Omowunmi said she learnt a lot of great lessons from him.

She further acknowledged that he will be missed having left indelible mark and legacies to be remembered for in the family and in the larger community.

“My father taught us to be contented. I happen to be the last child and coincidentally, today happens to be his birthday. I will like to say that my late father lived a peaceful life and I am particularly glad that he knew God before he died. He was loved by the people in the community and he cared for all of them”, she added.

In separate remarks, Mr. Wale Eddo, elder brother and Pastor Mrs. Mosunmola Kayode, the elder sister to Hon. Omowunmi described their late father as a wonderful and kindhearted man who cared about the entire community.

At the event also is the first son of late Pa Olatunji Eddo, Chief Folorunso Eddo, and Mrs Ranti Fasoranti.

Earlier in his sermon, Ven. T. Opekujero admonished the people to emulate the goodly examples of late Pa Eddo who gave his all to the people around him and was a devout christian by all standards.

He restated the importance of living a godly life that leaves a lasting legacy on humanity as the Eddo patriarch, late Pa Olatunji Eddo lived a long and impactful life.

Some of the dignitaries who witnessed the occasion include Olori Adetutu Aladetoyinbo, one of the wives of the Deji of Akure Kingdom, Mrs Bunmi Ademosu-Williams, Hon. Saka Ogunleye, Barr. Kayode Ajulo, SAN, Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan, Mrs. Gloria Amata, Hon. Tony Alla, Hon. Mosun Odukale and members of Adeniyan family among others.

Pa. Olatunji died on Friday June 7th at the ripe age of 101 and he is survived by children, grand children and great grand children.
