No doubt the economic situation in Nigeria is not smiling and suffering of under-privileged Nigerians is currently on the high side, but an Islamic Cleric based in Akure, the Ondo state capital, Sheikh Moshood Hasbunallahi has urged teeming citizens to embrace massive farming to enable them overcome hunger and high cost of essential food stuff.
The cleric who is also the Chief Imam of Ajipowo area of Akure, made the call at Eid during Eld-el-Kabir prayers, explained that amidst current high cost soup ingredients and food items, reality should have done on everybody to return to a mechanized farming.
The Islamic Scholar who is also a school administrator, equally challenged government at all levels to invest in agriculture and support people who are willing to going to farming as deliberate steps to tackle current exorbitant prices of Agric produce.
On security situation, Sheikh Hasbunallahi expressed dismay over recent extortion of motorists by some security agents usually on roads, adding that the Police and the EFCC should always discharge their duties in line with dictates of the rule of law.
On Eld-el-Kabir celebration, he enjoined Nigerians especially Muslims to continue to pray for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to introduce policies and programmes that would have positive impacts on the masses rather than cursing them.
Sheikh Hasbunallahi who frowned at cursing or abusing leaders by followers, urged Nigerians to continue to pray for a better nation.
