Ondo Assembly confirms appointment of new members of State Civil Service Commission

Ondo State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of three members of the Civil Service Commission.

They include,Mr.Mathew Ayorinde Imoru from Akoko North/West local government, Barr. Iwabi Akpoebi, Ese-Odo Local government and Mr. Sunday Agbotoba from Ose local government area of the State.

Appearing before the honourable members today during a plenary which was presided over by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. (Chief) Olamide Oladiji, the nominees were cleared with a charge to bring their various experiences to bear in their new assignments.

Earlier, the Vice-Chairman of the Selection Committee,who is also the Deputy Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. (Prince) Abayomi Akinruntan had presented the report of the committee to the House after scrutiny.

Describing the nominees as people of high integrity, the vice-Chairman explained that the committee had recommended them for the positions after been carefully screened.

Moving the motion for consideration and approval by the House Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. (Princess) Tosin Ogunlowo Ajirotutu and seconded by Hon. Oluwatoyin Japheth, member representing Akoko North East Constituency, the lawmakers unanimously agreed in a voice votes for their confirmation.

The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon.(Chief) Olamide Oladiji, who expressed appreciation to the Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for putting round pegs in round holes,ruled for the confirmation of the nominees.

Congratulating the new members of the State Civil Service Commission, Oladiji charged them not to disappoint the people of the state by discharging their duties dutifully.

In another development,the House has passed a bill for a law to amend the provisions of the Ondo State High Court law,2006 into law.

The passage followed the submission of the report by the Chairman, House Committee on Judiciary,Hon(Barr)Rotimi Abitogun.

The House Deputy Majority Leader,Hon(Princess)Tosin Ogunlowo Ajirotutu, later moved the motion for its passage and seconded by Hon.Chris.Chris Ayebusiwa, member representing Okitipupa 1 constituency.

Plenary was later adjourned till 2nd July, 2024.
