NAOSS warns faceless youth groups against unwarranted attacks on Senator Ipinsagba

…expresses support for bursary disbursement, Town Hall meeting

The National Association of Ondo State Students has called for more cautious on the various media attacks on the person of the Senator representing Ondo North Senatorial District, Pastor Olajide Emmanuel.

The association in a letter written by its Global President, Senator Oyelade Hammed and made available to newsmen in Akure described such social media unwarranted releases as orchestrated by some groups towards personality attack and had ulterior motives.

The letter read thus:

Dear, Ondo North Students and Youth.

Setting the records straight on the town Hall meeting organized by Senator Jide Ipinsagba. I commend the Dist. Senator for his laudable initiative in establishing the bursary program aimed at supporting indigent members of his senatorial district. This gesture demonstrates his commitment to the well-being and education of his constituents. However, I would like to correct the misleading information and inaccuracies presented in their statement.

Firstly, i would like to emphasize that all expected participants for the program were invited, and the committee for Ondo North students’ bursary was formed and carried out their duties through a free and fair process. Indigent students qualified for the bursary were selected without undue interference or influence, and the selected candidates have been invited to the program.

It is essential to note that the town hall meeting was targeted at a specific stakeholders whom they have been duly invited and they are ready to attend, and it’s not possible to disassociate yourself from where you have not been invited to and moreover the program is meant for indigent students.

An attempt to disassociate oneself from something you were not associated with in the first place is null and void. It appears that the said people or group are seeking undue popularity and relevance.

I’m reiterating that the bursary program and Town Hall meeting are genuine efforts by Senator Jide Ipinsagba to bring development and encourage education in the district . We urge the said group to refrain from politicizing this initiative and instead, work together with the Senator to ensure the betterment of our communities.

Why we are preparing for the bursary disbursement and town hall meeting, I urge any indigent students that applied for the bursary yet to receive invitation sms to kindly be patient and also makes sure he/she has a good network.

I reiterate my commitment to the students community hence why am part of the committee.

Thank you.

Sen. Oyelade Hammed
Global President,
National Association of Ondo State Students Committee Member,
Senator Jide Ipinsagba Bursary.

The Association however called for constructive criticism and possible dialogue for productive and working relationship for a better Ondo North Senatorial District as being projected by Senator Jide Ipinsagba.
