The Ondo State Liberation Movement has condemned the withdrawal of Dr. Femi Adekanmbi’s appointment as HYPREP Project Coordinator, describing it as a “slap in the face” for the people of Ondo State.
The movement’s spokesperson, Comrade Adeola Oladele, expressed outrage and disappointment at the government’s decision, citing Dr. Adekanmbi’s impressive credentials and dedication to the state’s development.
“We are particularly dismayed by the insinuation that the Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, was behind this unjust decision,” Comrade Oladele said. “If he could be made Minister in Abuja, what makes HYPREP the exclusive birthright of Ogonis? This is a clear case of discrimination and marginalization.”
The movement praised Dr. Olufemi Adekanmbi for his selfless dedication and commitment to the victory of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the Presidentisl election. “His unwavering support and investment of personal resources, time, and energy without expecting or receiving financial compensation from the President is a testament to his loyalty and dedication to the party’s ideals,” Comrade Oladele said.
The Ondo State Liberation Movement has demanded Dr. Adekanmbi’s immediate reinstatement, emphasizing the need for fairness, equity, and meritocracy in the appointment process.
They criticized the government’s decision as a “betrayal of trust” and a “brazen display of political opportunism”, which undermines the people’s confidence in the government.
“We will not stand idly by while the government perpetuates injustice and betrayals,” Comrade Oladele vowed.
“We demand accountability and transparency in the appointment process”, the statement read
