Ondo State Government has vowed that no government property will be abandoned in the State.

The Special Adviser to the State Governor on Transport, Akogun (Hon.) Olugbenga Omole stated this while leading the Management and Staff of the Ministry on inspection to the State riders/drivers institute, Oba-lle and the Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO), Oba-lle.

At the riders/drivers institute, Akogun Omole assured that the place will be given adequate attention, saying no government property will be abandoned under the leadership of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

He informed that the inspection is a continuation of the activities of the Management of the Ministry to visit all government public buildings under the jurisdiction for on the spot accessment.

He said what they met on ground was not encouraging ,which is quite understandable because, it has been abandoned for quite some time.

“We have to change the narrative from now,the infrastructures are massive ,we will seek the approval of the Governor for this place to be renovated and bring back to live, we have almost everything here,the road signs, training ground, among others.

“This place will come back to full operation.We have the facilities to trained new comers into the business of riding motorcycles, tricycles and vehicles.It will add value, productivity and efficiency to transport workers, as well as increase revenue generation”,he stated.

At the VIO’s office,the Special Adviser noted that it is surprising to see a lot of uncollected riders license which have been paid for, calling on the owners to come and pick up the licenses as no additional charges will be paid.

“It is illegal to ride without license.Our officers will be on the road to ensure enforcement”.

According to him, the computerized vehicle inspection service is a very good innovation of government whereby, technology is deployed to ensure all vehicles plying roads are in good condition to avert accident.

Akogun Omole advised vehicle owners to periodically check their vehicles at the computerized vehicle inspection center for safety, commending the Management/ Staff for being proactive and urged them to do more.

Meanwhile,the Director VIO, Mr Alaba Adeleye in an interview explained that no fewer than eleven thousand uncollected riders license are in the office.
