Ahead of the November 16th governorship election in Ondo State, party leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from Irele Local Government of the state have declared that there is no vacancy for opposition in the State Government House, as they predicted massive victory for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
The leaders boasted that the party would spend at least 16 years in the Governor’s office as the ruling government in the state.
The party leaders including the Special Adviser to the state governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Health, Prof. Simidele Odimayo, Barrister Morayo Lebi, the local government chairman of the party, Chief Zachariah Omoge, among others, declared that the party will win the forthcoming poll with a wide margin.
Addressing party members during the Irele local government meeting, the leaders urged the party faithful to ensure that they deliver Governor Aiyedatiwa across the wards and units of the local government in the forthcoming poll.
Addressing the gathering, the Special Adviser to the state governor, Prof. Simidele Odimayo, who described Governor Aiyedatiwa as a unifier, disclosed that there was no opposition to the reelection of the governor.
According to him, “We have no regard for any other candidate in the Irele local government. Those people the PDP said they decamped to their party are here today to show their support for Governor Aiyedatiwa. Other parties are just lying. Our people have a lot of respect for the leadership of APC in Irele local government. They trust us and they are fully with us.”
Prof. Odimayo said, “We called for this meeting to call all of our grassroots mobilizers together. They made things happen during the last Governorship election, and we will need to call them together to ensure that we unify them towards the forthcoming Governorship election.
“Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is a unifier; he is humble, and he is doing everything possible to bring the party members together at the state level. All the ward chairmen and unit coordinators are here.
“We are meeting them to ensure that the good works of Governor Aiyedatiwa will keep on vibrating in all the nooks and crannies of the local government. He will win with a minimum of 90% votes in the local government.”
Prof Odimayo, said “60 road contracts have been approved by Governor Aiyedatiwa, and schools have been awarded for rehabilitation. The mother of Aiyedatiwa is also from Irele.
“Local Government, ward coordinators are to come together for the governorship election. The governor loves the people. He is also concerned with the development of the state. “
Earlier, the local government chairman of the party, Chief Zachariah Omoge, said “We have started a ward meeting across the local government. There should also be a unit meeting.
“Coordinators have been appointed for the wards. APC will spend 16 years in the office. As you prepare for the governorship election, you should also prepare for the local government election. We must ensure that Governor Aiyedatiwa wins the forthcoming governorship election in Ondo State.
“There is already a provision for each of the wards in the local government to hold their meetings regularly. In the Irele local government, there is no opposition against the reelection of the governor because those who are in opposition have joined the ruling party. Aiyedatiwa will win with about 95 % votes.”
Speaking in the same vein, one of the governorship aspirants of the party in the last governorship primary election, Barrister Morayo Lebi, disclosed that all the aspirants of the party that contested against Governor Aiyedatiwa are currently on the same page with him.
Lebi noted “The essence of the meeting is to galvanize support for our governor ahead of the November 16th governorship election in the state. We must support him to actualize his dreams for the state.
“His friendliness, leadership style, his ability to attract goodness to the state distinguish him from other contestants. All of us who contested against him in the last primary election are currently on the same page with him and will work together to win the forthcoming governorship election.”
