The candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the forthcoming off-cycle governorship election in Ondo State, Hon. Olugbenga Edema, on Monday felicitated with the Muslim ummah on the occasion of Eid-el-Maulud, commemorating the birth of the Prophet Muhammad.
Edema, who emphasised love, unity, and the need for communal harmony, stressed that Eid-el-Maulud is a time for reflection, compassion, and charitable deeds.
The governorship candidate, in a goodwill message to the Muslim community, stated that “this auspicious occasion reminds us of the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, who preached love and tolerance.
He said: “In these challenging times, it is imperative that we embody these values and work together towards a brighter future for our state and the country.”
Meanwhile, Edema emphasised the commitment of the NNPP to rescuing Ondo State from its current challenges.
The gubernatorial candidate who bemoaned the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration in the state for failing to meet the needs of the people promised to implement policies that prioritise education, healthcare, and infrastructure development if elected as governor on November 16.
“Our vision for Ondo State is one where every citizen can thrive and live in dignity. We are ready to take bold steps towards real change.”
