Hon. Olakusibe Morakinyo Obayan Joins Mr. Seyi Adekunle Vodi, OON, to visit Maiduguri to Commiserate with Flood Victims

In a profound display of solidarity and compassion, Hon. Morakinyo Olakusibe Obayan has joined Mr. Seyi Adekunle Vodi, OON, on a visit to Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, to express their condolences to the government and the people of the state in the wake of the devastating floods that have overwhelmed the region.

The duo, Mr. Adekunle Vodi, a celebrated entrepreneur in the fashion industry, and Hon. Olakusibe Morakinyo Obayan, a philanthropist and politician from Ondo State, offered their heartfelt sympathies in light of the tragic event.

The floods have inflicted severe damage across Borno State, resulting in a tragic loss of life, widespread destruction of property, and the displacement of countless families. Affected communities still continue to struggle as they confront the overwhelming aftermath of this natural disaster.

During their meeting with the state’s Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, Hon. Morakinyo Olakusibe Obayan conveyed the deepest sympathies on behalf of the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, expressing deep concern over the immense losses suffered by the people of Borno.

Having completed his primary, secondary, and tertiary education in Maiduguri, Mr. Adekunle shares a personal connection with the city, which further fueled his commitment to making a tangible impact on the lives of those affected by the floods.

In the demonstration of commitment to providing immediate relief and fostering long-term recovery and development, Mr. Adekunle donated cash and essential food items to the victims, pledging continued support even after the state has been rebuilt.

He highlighted the importance of ensuring that no family is left behind in the recovery process and vowed to mobilize resources and rally support from both governmental and non-governmental organizations to further assist in the ongoing recovery efforts. He reassured the people of Borno that they are not alone in their time of need.

The visit also included a tour of some of the hardest-hit areas, where the pair personally assessed the extent of the damage, further reinforcing their unwavering commitment to the relief and recovery efforts.
