Ondo govt meets Labour to act on Minimum wage, leave bonus, 8 other top issues top

THE MEETING BETWEEN ONDO STATE GOVERNMENT AND ORGANISED LABOUR HELD ON THURSDAY, 3RD OCTOBER, 2024 AT THE HEAD OF SERVICE OFFICE, GOVERNOR’S OFFICE, ALAGBAKA, AKURE.

Arising from the meeting between the Ondo State Government and the Organized Labour today, Thursday, 3rd October, 2024 held at the Head of Service’s Office, Governor’s Office, Alagbaka, Akure.

Leadership relayed all complaints of the Sunshine State workers and resolved as follows:

2024 LEAVE BONUS
Government pleaded with the State Workers to exercise more patience over the payment of year 2024 Leave Bonus till next week.

HAZARD ALLOWANCE FOR HEALTH WORKERS:
Government pleaded with the State Health Workers that something positive would be done on the payment of four months arrears of hazard allowance.

NEW MINIMUM WAGE
Organized Labour Leadership enjoined government to let the negotiation start in time as workers expect it to reflect in October 2024 salary.

NATIONAL HOUSING FUND (NHF):
Though the NHF is an inheritance liability but the Government has started reconciliation of housing fund and it’s almost resolving. Therefore, the payment will soon be effected.

RUGIPO STAFF SALARY ARREARS OF 7-MONTHS:
Government has been meeting with the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo union leaders on how the payment could be effected.

PROMOTION
Pending promotion with Civil Service Commission affecting land and housing, ministry of finance and education. Government promised to look into it as soon as possible.

DRIVERS PROMOTION MATTER. Government agreed to issue circular and lift ban on the affected Drivers, particularly those who went through superintendent cadre’s course.

UNIMEDTH SALARY: The government said they have been looking into it as well as payment of Hazard Allowance.

DEDUCTIONS: It has been pushed but the network failure led to delay.

TRANSPORTATION RELIEF:
We concluded that Workers should meet the Accounting Officers of their MDAs, parastatals, commissions and others on agreed internal arrangements.
