CCB Federal Commissioner, Abdulsalam visits Sanwo-Olu, takes anti-graft war to Lagos

Rt Hon Abdulsalam Taofiq Olawale, the Federal Commissioner and Board Member representing the South West at the Code of Conduct Bureau, paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos State government yesterday.

He was warmly received by the Executive Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency Babajide Sanwo-Olu, at the Lagos House in Marina.

The purpose of Rt Hon Abdulsalam’s visit was to collaborate and join forces with the Lagos State government in the fight against corruption, both in Lagos and the South West region.

As the representative of the Code of Conduct Bureau in the South West, he emphasized the importance of ensuring that all public servants in Lagos State comply with the Fifth Schedule (Part I) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

During the meeting, Rt Hon Abdulsalam and Governor Sanwo-Olu discussed various strategies and initiatives to strengthen the anti-corruption efforts in the state. They acknowledged that the fight against corruption is a collective responsibility, and that by working together, they can make significant strides in promoting transparency, accountability, and integrity in public service.

Rt Hon Abdulsalam commended the Lagos State government for its ongoing efforts to combat corruption and emphasized the need for continued collaboration between the state and federal agencies responsible for upholding ethical standards in public office.

He stressed the importance of developing robust mechanisms to prevent, detect, and punish corrupt practices, ensuring that public resources are utilized for the benefit of the people.

Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed his gratitude for Rt Hon Abdulsalam’s visit and reiterated the Lagos State government’s commitment to working closely with the Code of Conduct Bureau to address corruption and promote good governance.

He emphasized that the state government is fully dedicated to creating an environment where public servants adhere to the highest ethical standards and serve the people with integrity.

The visit underscores the shared vision and determination of the Code of Conduct Bureau and the Lagos State government to tackle corruption and uphold the principles of transparency and accountability.

As the two entities continue to collaborate, the people of Lagos and the South West region can expect to see a more robust and effective anti-corruption framework that will ultimately benefit the entire community.
