Ondo Amotekun arrests gateman, wife, children for attacking neighborhoods

The Commander of the Ondo State Security network, codenamed Amotekun corps, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye has apprehended a family  comprising father, mother and three children for  terrorising neighbourhood, involving in burglary and stealing of household materials in Akure, the state capital.

The  father, Agbor John 42, a gatekeeper with his wife Mary John were arrested and the children who were involved in the act at the Federal Housing Estate Shagari Village, Akure after burgling into a house while the owner was not home and looted the entire building.

The Commander also noted that, a suspected kidnapper, was also arrested after taking two million naira ransome from a victim, which the suspect confessed to the crime whose name is Usman Abubakar.

“We have three suspects that were arrested with charms, arms, and ammunition. On average, I want to say that the security situation of Ondo State is good.

“The Amotekun rangers launched by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa recently had penetrated the forest, and substantially within the week under review, we were able to resist five kidnapping attempts. We were able to rescue nine victims. That is to say that the kidnap attempt failed.

“The notorious portion of Elegbeka had been bombarded, and we are glad to say that the Amotekun rangers had infiltrated the entire forest around Elegbeka to guarantee the safety of commuters’ lives and the property of the people of the area.

“In the next few weeks, we are going to dominate Ala, Ago-Oyibo, Ogbese, Jugbere, and other forests. The infringement of the anti-open-grazing law is Mohamed Abubakar, who was arrested in Itaogbolu.

“There was a suspect who was arrested in Akoko by the joint effort of the police, the hunters, and the Amotekun corps. We are reviewing the case and investigation continues on him.”

Adeleye said the security network has arrested Muyidin Olaleye, Jimoh Sherif, and Alex Idowu for stealing and receiving stolen motorcycles in different parts of the state.

He said one Akinbinu Akilolu was arrested for stealing cocoa and plantain while Bello Sunday was arrested in Irun-Akoko in Akoko Northwest local government area of the state for stealing.

On other arrests, Adeleye said ”Destiny Johnson was arrested for breaking into a shop where mobile phones, are sold. We apprehended Lekan Omotosho. The bad thing about it is that the owner of such premises had done so much and was getting ready to park into the house, only to get there and find out that the entire house had been vandalized.

“They remove cables, melt them, and sell them as copper. On burglary, breaking, and entry, we apprehended Michael Oluwafemi and Alamu Augustine.”

Adeleye advised people not to buy second-hand products without collecting the original verifiable receipt of purchase, saying as a result of the downturn of the economy, a lot of economic breaches are taking place.
