Ondo 2024: Akure Standstill as PDP Governors, leaders confident of Agboola’s Victory

Akure, the Ondo State capital was today shut down as it played host to three State Governors; Governor Mohammed Bala of Bauchi State, Governor Abiola Makinde of Oyo State and Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun state among other People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chieftains who turned in large numbers to witness and endorse the governorship candidate of the party, Hon. Agboola Ajayi and his running mate, Hon. Festus Akingbaso.

This is in preparation for the much awaited governorship election scheduled to hold in Ondo State on the 16th of November, 2024.

Addressing large audience of supporters during the campaign flag off in the state, the Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Muhammed Bala charged the good people to vote for the PDP so as to overcome the economic challenges that the ruling party has brought on all the people.

Particularly, he expressed confidence in the ability of the party’s flagbearer, Hon. Ajayi to give right leadership to the people if given the chance to be at the helms of affairs.

At the event also was the Governors of Osun and Oyo State, Gov. Adeleke and Gov. Makinde respectively who called for the removal of the State Resident Electoral Commissioner saying she would not be able to give the various political parties a fair- playing ground in the forth coming elections.

Makinde, who is also the leader of the PDP in the South West zone lamented the economic hardship under the ruling party (APC), stressing that the people are tired of the woes that is daily becoming their reality.

He thus urged the people to embark on house-to house campaign and ensure they deliver their votes for the PDP.

One of the major highlight of the flag off is the presentation of the party’s flag to the flag bearer, Hon. Ajayi by the AG National Chairman , PDP, Ambassador Iliya Umar Damagun to the cheers of the people.

He however used the opportunity to chide the ruling party for being insensitive to the plight of Nigerians.

Responding, Hon. Ajayi appreciated all the Governors most especially for coming all out to support him and the party just as he promised to deliver good dividends of democracy when elected into office.

Various leaders of the party who took turns to speak, expressed optimism that the party will win big during the November polls.
