Ondo State women in their numbers yesterday turned out in a massive show of support for Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa at a mega rally held at the Arcade Ground in Akure.
At the event were women leaders across the 18 local government areas of the state, representatives of women support groups, youths as well as other south west women leaders.
The move according to the Special Adviser to Mr Governor on Gender, Hon. Olamide is a clear indication that Ondo State women are solidly behind the candidacy of Mr. Governor as his administration has shown commitment to women inclusion with several appointments of women into key positions.
Hon. Falana who used the opportunity to restate some of the administration’s stride in the area of free health for 0-5 years old, financial empowerment for artisans inclusive of women among others, appreciated the women for coming out in solidarity for Governor Aiyedatiwa who remains a committed and consistent leader with capacity for good leadership.
She pledged that Ondo State women would deliver at least one million votes for the APC in the upcoming election.
“Here, we have women leaders across the 18 local government areas of the state, youths and even women leaders in South West who believe in the capacity of Mr. Governor. This is not just a show of support but a demonstration of unity amongst us”.
“We have come together to rally around and support our candidate, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa. He has shown remarkable commitment, and the young women of Ondo State are truly fortunate”.
“Governor Aiyedatiwa is a leader who values continuity and believes in building on achievements to ensure better governance,” she added just as she stressed that Ondo State women are ready to play a pivotal role in the coming election.
She also charged Ondo State women to support Mr. Governor by coming out in their numbers to vote for him, further assuming that he will continue to do his best to improve the quality of lives of the citizenry.
At the event also were other notable women inclusive of Member Representing Ilaje Constituency II, at the House of Assembly, Hon. Olawumi Fayemi-Obayelu, Hon. Omowumi Ohwovoriole, Barr. Mrs. Ademujimi, Olori Oyinkansola Aroloye, wife of Ondo State Chief Justice, Bishop Mrs. Odusola among other leaders.
At the rally also was APC South West Women Leader Yetunde Adesanya and Ondo State APC Women Leader Mojisola Lijoka who also joined their voices to the campaign expressing confidence in Gov. Aiyedatiwa.
Particularly, Mujidat Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, President Bola Tinubu’s daughter and Nigeria’s Iyaloja-General, expressed optimism that Aiyedatiwa’s administration would further strengthen gender balance and women’s empowerment.
She said APC women support Aiyedatiwa because they trust he will continue creating opportunities for women in business and politics.
