ONDO DEPUTY SPEAKER, AKINRUNTAN EMPOWERS HUNDREDS OF ILAJE YOUTH
•Receives Award of Excellence from NBA, Okitipupa
The Skill Acquisition Training Programme initiated by the Ondo State Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. (Prince) Abayomi B. Akinruntan successfully held its graduation ceremony with hundreds of beneficiaries, marking a significant milestone in empowering individuals with essential skills for self-reliance and economic independence.
The graduation ceremony was well-attended by political leaders alongside Ilaje LCDA Chairmen, demonstrating their support for skill acquisition and youth empowerment initiative.
Hundreds of beneficiaries of Rt. Hon. Akinruntan’s Skill Acquisition Programme took to the streets to express their gratitude and solidarity with a walk rally. This rally was not only a gesture of appreciation for Akinruntan’s dedication to empowering youths since 2011 but also a public declaration of their support for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s election bid.
Building on this success, the Chairman of Ilaje Local Govt, Hon. Toyin Ogungbure commended Rt. Hon. Akinruntan for his dedication to the Skill Acquisition Programme which has been running successfully since 2011. Hon. Toyin encouraged the graduating students to be good ambassadors, utilizing the skills they’ve acquired through ABA Foundation to make a positive impact in their communities.
Chairman of the occasion, and doubles as the Chairman of Aheri/Etikan LCDA, Hon. Esther Orofin praised Akinruntan’s efforts in spreading skill acquisition across Ilaje, a testament to Akinruntan’s commitment to empowering youths beyond his constituency..
Furthermore, Rt. Hon. (Prince) Abayomi Babatunde Akinruntan received prestigious Award of Excellence from Barrister Tolu Odusola, Chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association, Okitipupa Chapter. This esteemed recognition celebrated Mr. Deputy Speaker’s outstanding contributions and dedication to Ilaje communities.
While addressing the gathering and appreciating the presence of prominent political appointees, Rt. Hon. Akinruntan seeked collaboration from government agencies to further empower Ilaje youths. We are rolling out the 2024/2025 Skill Acquisition edition in December across Ilaje Local Government Area, he added.
