Aiyedatiwa should probe alleged financial crisis at UNIMED, as Ondo Anti-Graft Coalition exonerates Prof Loto, Kukoyi, Oladipupo

RE: LOTO, KUKOYI, OLADIPUPO PLAN TO DISRUPT UNIMED

The Coalition of Ondo State Indigenes Against Corruption has described as baseless and malicious the recent spurious allegations levelled by the Concerned Stakeholders Forum against the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration and Clinical Services) of the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo (UNIMED), Professor Adolphus Loto; and others including Mr. Olalekan Oladipupo; and Barrister Olaniyi Kukoyi.

The Concerned Stakeholders Forum, through its spokesperson, Soledayo Majobalo—whose relevance to an institution of UNIMED’s stature is questionable—alleged that the quartet was attempting to destroy the university through propaganda, lies, and distortion of facts. Prof. Loto was further singled out as the alleged ringleader of this supposed scheme.

In response, the Coalition of Ondo State Indigenes Against Corruption has urged the accused personalities not to join issues with the “saboteurs.” The Coalition, however, asserts that these accusations are a deliberate attempt to silence advocacy for transparency, accountability, and adherence to due process within the university’s administration.

The group considers the allegations as part of a smear campaign aimed at diverting attention from the pressing challenges faced by UNIMED.

Speaking on the allegations against Prof. Loto, the coalition’s chairman, Mr. Love Olawumi, expressed dismay at what he called a “fabrication of facts” designed to tarnish the Professor’s reputation. He emphasized Loto’s unwavering commitment to the university’s progress, particularly through his role in driving academic and institutional development.

Referring to Prof. Loto’s petitions against the university’s management, Olawumi stated that these actions were driven by a desire to address systemic issues and improve governance at UNIMED. He encouraged the Concerned Stakeholders Forum to review the detailed “petition bible” painstakingly prepared by the Deputy Vice Chancellor.

On the accusations against Odimayo, the coalition dismissed them as an insult to his professional and recognised moral standing. They questioned why such allegations were being raised now that there is a question for VC of UNIMED to answer? “Are Majobalo or his group members serving as cover or distraction elements for UNIMED’S VC?

The coalition also rejected the claims against Barrister Kukoyi, a distinguished member of the Governing Council, and the only voice of Truth who is a thoroughbred when it comes to strict adherence to due process and compliance with provisions of the Law as lacking credible evidence and aimed at sowing seed of discord within the institution. Even where Barrister Kukoyi is involved in any scandal ( which allegation is vehemently denied) how come that this is just being raised and what is the nexus between such alleged non-existent and/or concorted scandal and the facts in issue. Its a mere attempt to call a dog a bad name in order to hang it and this will fail woefully.

In conclusion, the coalition called on the Concerned Stakeholders Forum to redirect its energy toward addressing the financial and operational challenges threatening UNIMED’s future, rather than engaging in character assassination.

The group further appealed to Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to urgently establish a committee to investigate allegations of financial recklessness and impunity allegedly involving the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Adesegun Fatusi, and his management team.

E-Signed
Chairman, Coalition of Ondo State Indigenes Against Corruption
Mr. Love Olawumi
