Senator Adegbonmire boosts capacity of farmers in Ondo Central with training, Supply of Agro-Allied Products

The Senator Representing Ondo Central Senatorial District, Sen. Adeniyi Adegbonmire SAN in collaboration with Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute has trained and empowered over 100 farmers in Ondo Central Senatorial District.

The training which took place in Akure the state capital was conducted by Golden Castle Integrated Global Resources Ltd where farmers across the six local government areas of Ondo Central were in attendance.

During the opening ceremony, Sen. Adeniyi Adegbonmire represented by his Senior Legislative Aide, Hon. Akinloye Bolarinde said the objective of the training and empowerment is to uplift farmers out of poverty by training them in modern agricultural technology so as to ensure food security in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu renewed hope agenda.

The federal lawmaker added that the farmers would not only be equipped with technical skills but they would be empowered with necessary tools and resources to put their new skills into practice.

He therefore urged the beneficiaries to see farming as a means that is capable of providing regular income for their families.

In her own address, the CEO of Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute (ARMTI) Dr. (Mrs) Ajayi Oladunni represented by Mrs. Fatigun Olufunmilayo said the programme is an initiative of Sen. Adeniyi Adegbonmire which is aimed to ensure food security because that’s the easiest way to solve many of the country’s challenges..

She stressed that the inputs given to the farmers was to encourage best agriculture practices.

In his own remarks, Chairman APC Central Senatorial District, Hon. Festus Aregbesola commended senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire for all his laudable projects particularly in the area of education and agricultural development.

He advised the beneficiaries to properly utilize the training and put what they have learnt into practice for their benefits and the society at large.

The representative of Golden Castle Integrated Global Resources Ltd, Mr. Abiodun Oladimeji said the farmers were trained on good agricultural practice, soil management, fertilizer application and equipment were freely given to the farmers to improve their farming activities.

He promised that the organization will continue to monitor the activities of the farmers in order to ensure best practices.

The beneficiaries thanked the Senator for the impactful training and promised to make judicious use of the rare opportunity.
