Yuletide: Reps member, Ojogo dolls out N53.6m to Ilaje/Ese-odo constituents

PRESS RELEASE

FEDERAL LAWMAKER, OJOGO DOLLS OUT N53.6M TO CONSTITUENTS FOR YULETIDE, SAYS TINUBU’S REFORMS NECESSARY FOR GROWTH

The federal lawmaker representing Ilaje/Ese-Odo federal constituency of Ondo State in the House of Representatives, Hon Donald Kimikanboh Ojogo has described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic reforms as “very necessary” for Nigeria to prosper.

The lawmaker says only a man of courage like President Tinubu could have embarked on such bold and ambitious reforms.

While noting that like every positively impactful change, such reforms have some glaring effects, Ojogo describes the development as a temporary setback that will eventually pave way for fruitful results and national growth.

According to him: “As lawmakers, especially in the House of Representatives, we are not unmindful of the short term effects of the very necessary measures aimed at berthing economic prosperity and growth for Nigeria.

“Every country in dire need of economic redirection like ours cannot run away from the reforms that are currently ongoing. But like child birth, the pains and whatever effects that accompany such reforms are temporary and could only bring about positive results.

“No doubt, the effects are felt more by the governed; however, the end result is the fact that as the peoples representatives, we have had to bear the heavier burden of the transferred impacts of the economic reforms, so we feel it even in multiple ways.

“But we will not shy away from the responsibility of mitigating whatever effects these reforms have on the people because we are all in it together and there are many sacrifices we also make simply for reasons that it shall be better tomorrow.

“As lawmakers, we have thoroughly examined the processes of these reforms and the preponderance of views is that they are not just necessary but desirable for the nation. Only a man of courage could have initiated such; and that is why in cases where misconceptions are brought to the fore, those of us on same page with these reforms process provide convincing engagements.

Meanwhile, in the spirit of the season and in line with his passion for giving, Ojogo has dolled out the sum of 53.6 million naira to his constituents for the Yuletide period. The disbursement of the funds which commenced on Monday, December 23, is in progress.

As a dedicated representative, he is committed to improving the lives of his constituents and promoting the well-being of his constituency.
