
Tuykana’s Demise, A Tragic Loss – OGSA Alumni
The Global Executive Council of Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure Alumni Association has described the death of the Secretary to the Ondo State Government, Hon. Tayo Oluwatuyi a.k.a Tuykana as a tragic loss to the Ondo State Government and nation as a whole.
In a statement by the Global President of the Association, Dr. Adeniyi Ijogun, he said the state has lost a courageous and steadfast man, who has shown good leadership traits and love for his people.
Dr Ijogun said the news of his death came as a shock to the people of the state and in particular, members of the Alumni Association globally.
Ijogun said Hon. Oluwatuyi was a man of conviction, who never reneged his disposition for the truth and justice.
According to him, he was a role model to many, and has left legacies and indelible marks in the life of many. Though, his death is very painful, he will forever be remembered for his good deeds.
Tuykana, as he he fondly called was a peace loving person, who devoted his lifetime and energy to the course of our dear Sunshine State to attain the best, and we will surely miss his pragmatic approach to governance and administration.
While commiserating with the Ondo State Governor, His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, friends and the family of Hon. Oluwatuyi, on the loss, Ijogun urged them to take solace in God, as death is a time of pain and sorrow. He prayed for the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Hon. Tayo Oluwatuyi was an alumnus of Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure. He was the former Vice Chairman of the Akure Branch of the Alumni Association, and has contributed and partook in many infrastructural development of his Alma Mater.
An Akure born politician, a brilliant administrator and a bridge builder, who has used his resources towards advancing the cause of human and community development endeavours.
He has served the government in different capacities. He was the Executive Chairman, Akure South Local Government, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and two-time Secretary to the State Government.
