
The newly elected and inaugurated President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has been congratulated by a former Minister of Defence of Nigeria, Adetokunbo Kayode, SAN.
The former Minister, who was personally invited to the inauguration of the new Ghanaian President on Tuesday, said the support of the people for the president was overwhelming.
He expressed confidence in President Mahama that he would turn around the economy of the old Gold Coast nation.
The senior advocate charged the people of Ghana across all sectors of the economy to support the new government’s policies for speedy socio-economic turnaround and development of the country.
He implored politicians in the country to work hand in hand with the new president for the collective benefit of the citizenry.
Kayode, who was also a former Attorney General and Minister of Justice of Nigeria, stated that Africa has the potential to become a great developed economy of the world.
He explained that if African leaders harness all the available human and natural resources with the sole aim of developing the continent for the betterment of the citizens, the continent would become the destination for the rest of the world.
The Ex-Minister of Nigeria, therefore, charged heads of governments across African countries to see to working in synergy to ensure poverty is stamped out of the continent.
The inauguration of President Mahama was attended by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and several prominent Nigerians, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo, among others.
