With every sense of responsibility and unwavering commitment to the progress of our great party, the undersigned leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward Six, Ondo West, categorically reject the candidature of Mr. Oyeyemi Saheed as the flag bearer of our party in Ward Six.
While acknowledging his previous service as a Supervisor for two terms and as Councillor from 2020 to 2023, it is the collective decision of the ward leadership to endorse the candidature of Mr. Adeboyejo Alex Adeyemi, who has demonstrated unassailable commitment, dedication, and competence to represent Ward Six effectively.
It is disheartening to note that the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs. Lola Fagbemi, has overstepped the decision of the ward leadership by imposing her preferred candidate, a stooge who has been virtually absent from the ward over the last few years, including during his previous tenure.
This act of imposition and disregard for the collective will of the party faithful is a grave threat to the unity, equity, and fairness that should guide our party’s internal democracy. It is evident that Mrs. Fagbemi’s actions are deliberately sowing seeds of discord that could plunge our party into unending chaos with disastrous consequences for its future.
Mrs. Fagbemi’s approach clearly lacks respect for the principles of equity, fairness, and meritocracy. Therefore, with humility and an unwavering sense of duty, we, the leaders of Ward Six, Ondo West, appeal to His Excellency, Governor Orimisan Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to urgently intervene and caution the Honourable Commissioner to desist from these divisive and undemocratic practices.
We urge His Excellency to ensure that the voice of the ward leadership and the will of the people prevail. The candidacy of Mr. Adeboyejo Alex Adeyemi is built on the foundation of competence and merit, which should always supersede mediocrity and imposition.
We remain committed to the growth, unity, and success of the APC, and we trust in the wisdom and fairness of the Governor to resolve this matter expeditiously for the good of our great party.
