LG POLL: GOV AIYEDATIWA VOTES, SAYS LG AUTONOMY WILL ENHANCE GRASSROOTS DEVELOPMENT

Ondo State Governor, Hon Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on Saturday participated in the local government election in the state, describing the election as a step towards enhancing grassroots development.

The Governor reiterated the commitment of his administration to the effective running of the local government system in the state in line with the provisions of the law.

Governor Aiyedatiwa cast his vote at Polling Unit 5, Ugbo Ward 4, in Ilaje Local Government Area, commending the electoral process.

Speaking with journalists after casting his ballot, the Governor commended the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC) for the seamless conduct of the poll.

Governor Aiyedatiwa also thanked the people of the State for participating in the election.

LG Polls; Ondo Deputy Governor Votes in Owo, Says Council Administration Closest to People

Dr Olayide Adelami, deputy governor of Ondo state, has just voted in Saturday’s local government election in the state.

While exercising his franchise at his Unit 16 Igboroko 2, Ward 3 in Owo local government area at about 9:45am, Adelami expressed satisfaction at the turn out of voters and urged others still at home to come out to perform their civic duties.

He said, “It is important to vote in this election to enable us deepen delivery of good governance at the grassroots level because it is the tier of government that is most close to the people”

The deputy governor commended the Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC), security agencies and stakeholders for a peaceful conduct.

ONDO GOVERNOR’S CPS VOTES

At Ward 7 unit 4, Ojumu house Arakale, where the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, cast his vote, he expressed satisfaction with the election, saying the election has been peaceful.

He said “the turnout could be better but this is something that is always associated with local government election across the country but so far so good.

“I think this is a good outing for Ondo state conducting local government election and contributing to the proclamation of the Mr. President for the enthronement of local government autonomy,” Adeniyan said.

He said the report from there areas have been encouraging and peaceful
