Atijare Youth Carnival/Beauty Pageant: Oba Adeoye Edema charges Youths, Students to shun social vices

The Malokun of Atijere in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State, Oba Adeoye Edema, has called on youths and students, particularly those at the Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa, to embrace good behaviour and steer clear of social vices that can tarnish their image and that of their families.

Oba Adeoye gave this counsel during the annual Atijere youth carnival/Beauty Pageant, an event organized by the Atijere Youth Executive Council.

The colourful occasion, which attracted friends, students, well-wishers, and sons and daughters of the Atijere Kingdom from within and outside the state, featured entertainment, awards, and motivational speeches.

In his address, the Malokun of Atijere praised the youth leaders for consistently upholding the culture and traditions of the community. He encouraged them to remain exemplary ambassadors of the town and role models for younger generations.

Oba Adeoye also congratulated Miss Orofin Josephine Motunrayo, a 300-level biochemistry student at OSUSTECH, on her outstanding performance, which earned her the title of Miss Atijere 2025.

He urged her to use her new role to inspire young girls, engage in humanitarian services, and represent the town, state, and country positively, citing former Miss World Agbani Darego as a worthy example with an award of scholarship to the beauty queen.

In her acceptance speech, Miss Orofin Josephine Motunrayo expressed gratitude to the Atijere Youth Executive Council for organizing the event and acknowledged the efforts of the other five contestants.

She pledged to uphold good morals and use her position to inspire younger generations, particularly the girl child, toward achieving greatness.
