Run away from fallen tankers, Ondo NOA cautions residents against scooping of spill fuel

The Ondo State Directorate of National Orientation Agency (NOA) has cautioned the people of the State to desist from the act of scooping fuel from fallen tanker accidents which is noted to be extremely dangerous and causes explosion that can be fatal.

The State Director of Ondo NOA, Mr James Adekunle stated this in a Press Release over the concern on the recent accident of a fallen tanker in Dikko, Niger State that claimed many lives including women and children who were scooping fuel from the fallen tanker accident scene.

The State Director expressed worries and concerns about the alarming rate of fuel-related accidents and loss of lives resulting from explosion during fuel scooping. He emphasized the importance of safety and responsible behavior.

According to the State Director, “Scooping spilled fuel is a ticking time bomb, putting lives at risk of explosion and fire, and it is therefore crucial we take immediate action to prevent these avoidable tragedies. We owe it a duty to ourselves, our families, and our communities to prioritize safety.”

Mr Adekunle advised people to run far away from the scene of such accidents immediately and call-in trained emergency service workers to handle the situation. He urged tankers drivers across the country to be more professional while driving especially on rough routes and exercise sense of responsibility behind wheels.
