……Calls for FAAN Rehabilitation of Akure Airport.
The Senator Representing Ondo Central Senatorial District and the chairman Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters, Sen. Adeniyi Adegbonmire (SAN) has requested from the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), the rehabilitation of Akure Airport runway and other infrastructures such as the airport cargo and terminals to ensure operational safety and efficiency.
Adegbonmire stated this during a courtesy visit to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo SAN.
At the meeting was the Managing Director Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku.
The Honourable Minister assured the senator that the airport projects have been awarded and will be completed within a short time.
It would be recalled that the Akure Airport which was built in the 80’s was designed as a perishable and non perishable cargo airport in order to make use of the state’s export capabilities.
