According to eye witnesses, the trailer was on high speed, crushing the okada that carried the victim and the rider on Friday morning; the passenger died while the okada rider was lucky and escaped death.
It was said that the trailer did not stop to offer help but it took the hot pursuit of other road users and the military men to arrest the hit and run driver.
SUNSHINETRUTH News Reporter observed that the wife of the deceased was seen crying at the scene.
Speaking with newsmen, the Chairman Okada Rider Association, Adebowale junction branch, Akure, Mr Monday Desmond appealed to government to expand the road as it had claimed lives of many road users.
Also speaking, the federal road safety corps Sector Commander in Ondo State, Dr Samuel Ibitoye charged road users to drive carefully, especially on narrow road as anyone caught violating road regulations would be made to face full weight of the law.
It will recalled that the Federal Government had recently approved and commenced dualisation of Akure-Ondo-Ore highway to curb incessant crashes and loss of lives.
