The officer commanding Ondo State branch of the Tantita Security Services Limited (TSS), Senior High Chief Felix Idowu Asonja, has said desperate politicians are the ones behind the onslaught against the state commissioner of finance, Mrs Omowunmi Isaac.
Senior High Chief Asonja gave the stance on Monday while reacting to the rumour on financial allegations making the rounds against the commissioner.
According to Asonja, “The impression that Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa is under the grip of his Finance Commissioner, Mrs. Omowunmi Isaac is untrue and misleading. It is the grand plan of dishonest and desperate politicians to give wrong impression about Aiyedatiwa’s government.
“When politicians have certain advantages to pick from government quarters and it appears someone is inhibiting them, they resort to chief blackmail, just the way they are doing against Mrs Isaac now. They see her as impediment for being thorough and insisting on financial best practices.”
The Senior High Chief, who insists that Isaac is not corrupt as alleged, describing the allegations as frivolous and ridiculous.
“The reason behind for the attacks is because some desperate people in government want to control state resources for their personal gains, and because they have been denied access, they have resorted to blackmail and propaganda. The governor knows what he is doing. The nonsense should stop.” Asonja said.
