The Security network also arrested 14 suspects including kidnappers and three Herdsmen who gang-raped a 75yr-old grandmother at Ifira Akoko on her way from farm.
The State Commander of Ondo State Amotekun Corps, Chief Adetunji Adeleye made this known in Akure while parading the suspects linked with different offences in the state.
Chief Adeleye pointed out that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and security operatives in the state were working round the clock to tackle influx of bandits into the state, which had caused increase in the number of kidnap cases in Ondo State lately.

On the Students and farmers abducted near Akure Airport last weekend, the Amotekun Commander said his men and other security agents are current on the trail of the kidnappers to rescue the victims unhurt.
“The agency recorded no pending enforcement cases in land and chieftaincy matters, labour union crises, or student affairs.
“However, one suspect was linked to an anti-grazing farmer clash, while three were arrested for kidnapping. Additionally, three suspects were taken into custody for rape.”
“This trend, has been contributed to a rise in criminal activities, notably robbery and kidnapping. Despite this challenge, the agency remains committed to restoring peace and security.”
Highlighting a recent breakthrough, the security chief recounted how Amotekun operatives successfully rescued five kidnapped victims after a five-day search deep into the forest.
“Among the rescued individuals was a traumatised two-year-old child who had suffered severe beatings from the kidnappers. We thank God we arrived in time. The last five victims are here with us, and we were able to bring them out safely,” he said.
The arrested individuals included suspected kidnappers, rapists, and thieves.
Akogun Adeleye revealed that investigations into 12 of the suspects have been concluded, and they will soon face trial, adding that the remaining eight are undergoing further interrogation to uncover details about their accomplices.
Providing further insight, he stated: “Regarding the recent kidnapping incidents in Akure North, particularly around the Oke-Oge airport axis, Amotekun Corps acted swiftly, blocking all exit routes within an hour of receiving intelligence.
“Two individuals were abducted in Oke-Oge, while three were kidnapped in Oba Ile. Efforts to track down the perpetrators and rescue the victims are ongoing.”
To prevent further attacks in these areas, the security agency has announced plans to establish a permanent camp near the affected locations.
“This control post, expected to become operational in the coming days, will serve as a deterrent to criminals and enhance the corps’ response time,” Akogun Adeleye said.
