The Indigenous Ilaje Nation Youth Groups have passed vote of Confidence on Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and the State Finance Commissioner, Mrs Isaac Omowunmi, to discharge their duties for the state as against the desires of political vampires seeking to devour the treasury of Ondo State.
The groups described allegations by a faceless group, “Igbalaye Youth Group”, against Aiyedatiwa and Omowunmi as mere fiction as the author does not exist.
This was contained in a communique issued at the end of a meeting held by The Indigenous Ilaje Nation Youth Groups on Monday and read before journalists in Akure, the state capital.
According to the Ilaje youths, the Igbalaye Youth Group does not exist anywhere in Ilajeland as they discovered after thorough investigation.
The communique is jointly signed by
Mr. Samson Ewajane, President Federation of Ugboland Youth (General Secretary Ilaje Youth Coalition), Comrade Nejo Shina, President Mahin, Aheri/Etikan Youth Assembly and Comrade Saanumi Ola Lucky, Ilaje Dynamic Patriots (GWAMA).
The youth challenged anyone who has anything against the governor and commissioner to confront them in the open and should not be by proxy.
The communique reads in parts: “We, the youth leaders of Ilaje, representing the communities of Ugbo, Mahin, Etikan/Aheri, and Gwama patriots, wish to address the general public regarding a recent nefarious article written by an unknown Igbalaye youth group, supposed to have emanated from Ilaje.
“After conducting a thorough investigation, we found that the Igbalaye Youth Group is fictitious and does not exist in Ilaje. The group and the article are as fictitious as the bearer and those attempting to soil the high reputation of the Governor and the finance commissioner.
“This is a deliberate attempt by fifth columnists to sow a seed of discord, create animosity against the government. The attempt of the fifth columnist is to pitch the people of Ilaje, against our Owo brothers.
“The reality is that they have failed in this agenda. The people of Ilaje is at peace with Owo and the entire Ondo State.
“We further believe this is manipulation by politicians who fear they have zero chances of returning to the cabinet of Ondo State, aided by a few people in government. These individuals are desperate to exploit the situation and cause chaos in the state.
“In light of this, we, the youth leaders from Ilaje, hereby endorse Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership and his quest to transform Ondo State. We express our relentless support and confidence in the Governor and the finance Commissioner and entire Government of Ondo State.
“After thorough deliberations, we unanimously passed a vote of confidence in the Finance Commissioner in her passionate discharge of duty as against the desires of political vampires seeking to devour the treasury of Ondo State.
“We equally reaffirm our support for our leader and people’s Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa. We caution against malicious attempts to distract the government and urge all citizens to remain vigilant.
“We reaffirm our commitment to supporting the government’s initiatives and working towards the overall development of Ondo State.
“We urge the general public to disregard the malicious article and to be aware of the antics of fifth columnists. We assure the public that we will continue to work towards the progress and development of Ondo State.
“We challenge the faceless group and their sponsors to come public, if they have a case to make in public interest.”
